The ADM-Kenya project team had a productive meeting at ESA ESRIN in January. The team met with the ESA technical officers and presented an update on the current status of the project. Key representatives from all collaborating institutions were present, each sharing insightful updates on the progress of critical components of the project.
The key areas of focus included:
+ Farming systems mapping (irrigated vs rainfed and mono vs mixed) based on sentinel-2 time series
+ A comprehensive drought hazard, vulnerability, and risk assessment, utilizing data from Sentinel-3, supplemented with additional relevant datasets.
+ Crop Condition mapping with Sentinel-2
+ Downscaled Evapotranspiration based on Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3
+ User engagement and validation
+ Fieldwork in Kenya in September 2023
The upcoming phase involves the official release of these products, accompanied by a series of workshops and webinars designed to disseminate findings and foster collaborative discussions.
